The theatre workshop for families: How do I see you? – How do you see me? aims to
exchange the roles that we normally form in a theatre workshop for children.
Have you ever wondered how your son sees you? Do you want to be a part of how
your daughter sees you?
We live, at the present time, in a context of society where everything children do is
photographed or there is a duty to take selfies. Children have to come out smiling, or
natural, etc. The workshop aims to create a model of artistic play where children have
creative control in front of their parents.
In an indoor and inviting place (school, library, cultural centre, etc.) the children will
have the opportunity to creatively photograph their parents. With the guidance of the
coordinators and inspired by their visions, different materials, elements and objects
will be distributed, which will be the tools to model the parents. The children will play
immersed in a creative universe where parents will playfully indulge in their children’s
thoughts, fantasies and crazy ideas.
To exchange with the children the possibility of photographing their creations and to
strengthen relationships and connections between all of them in order to develop a
shared, accessible and original workshop in all its aspects.
Once their creation is finished, the photographic portraits of the parents will be taken
from their own children’s point of view.
These photographs will be given to the parents at the end of the workshop.
